About the role

Location: Gaithersburg, MD. Pay Rate: $50.00/hr. Duration: 2.5 months. Support upstream process development for microbial glycoprotein production and high-throughput screening.

Responsibilities

• Support upstream process development for microbial glycoprotein production and high-throughput screening.
• Execute microbial colony screening workflows using automated liquid-handling systems.
• Prepare microbial cultures, reagents, samples, plates, and materials for automated processing.
• Perform high-throughput assays, including ELISA and other plate-based immunoassays.
• Execute molecular biology workflows including DNA extraction, PCR, plasmid preparation, transformation, and agarose gel electrophoresis.
• Support mutant library screening and evaluation of microbial colonies for enhanced glycoprotein expression.
• Support sample preparation for whole-genome sequencing and experiments involving enzymatic glycosylation.
• Analyze assay data, identify experimental trends, and document results in electronic laboratory systems.
• Follow approved laboratory, biosafety, quality, and data-integrity procedures.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline preferred.
• Bachelor's degree with relevant hands-on laboratory experience may be considered.
