Scientific Software Sales Manager

About the role

You will own a portfolio of high-value accounts and be responsible for new business development, account expansion, and closing complex scientific software deals. You’ll work directly with R&D leaders and computational chemistry teams to position solutions that accelerate molecular design.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and acquire new accounts across pharma, biotech, and academia.
  • Manage full sales cycles from first outreach to close, including renewals and upsells.
  • Engage scientific decision-makers such as computational and medicinal chemists.
  • Deliver strong product demos that clearly communicate value and ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support evaluations and customer success.
  • Develop territory and account plans to meet and exceed revenue targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computational Chemistry, or related scientific fields are also accepted.
  • 5–7 years of scientific software sales experience in drug discovery, computational chemistry, or similar scientific software sales.
  • Proven success selling into pharma and biotech using a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
