About the Role
The Science Technician will support the practical and technical aspects of the science curriculum (Year 7 to 13) by preparing, providing, maintaining, organizing, and managing resources for safe, engaging, and effective practical activities.
Responsibilities
- Order specific special equipment as requested by staff.
- Organize, store, and label new equipment.
- Liaise with academic staff to discuss equipment requirements.
- Attend department meetings to support curriculum planning.
- Support in the management of the science budget.
- Maintain an audit of chemicals.
- Organize the disposal of chemicals.
- Prepare solutions from stock concentrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Proficiency with Mac and desktop systems.
- Availability onsite Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
