Summary/Objective

Landmark Academy is seeking a Science Teacher with a Physics endorsement to join our dynamic team. State of Michigan residency and certification are required.

Essential Functions

• Plan and deliver varied, interesting, engaging, and enjoyable lessons for students.
• Create lesson plans that align with students' learning styles.
• Assign homework in accordance with Landmark's philosophy and PLC team guidelines.
• Offer assignments and assessments in line with four-period learning, providing frequent and timely feedback.
• Analyze student performance data to develop plans for meeting individual needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records (e.g., Skyward).
• Develop a curriculum aligned with State standards and educational plans like IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior plans.
• Aid in maintaining a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents about their child's performance and progress.
• Return parent emails and voicemails within 24 hours.
• Pursue continuing education to stay updated on teaching methods and character education.
• Teach and model Landmark Academy's character education program (7 Habits).
• Ensure students follow Landmark's rules and policies, using PBIS and disciplinary procedures.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Michigan Teaching Certification, including a Physics endorsement.
• Pre-service experience as required for certification.
• State of Michigan residency required.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Very active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
• Frequent lifting and moving of items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
