About

A museum and independent research library located in the heart of New York City, the Morgan Library & Museum began as the personal library of financier, collector, and cultural benefactor Pierpont Morgan. As early as 1890 Morgan had begun to assemble a collection of illuminated, literary, and historical manuscripts, early printed books, and old master drawings and prints.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the weekly implementation of school programs Tuesdays–Fridays, including program set-up and clean-up
  • Maintain program supplies
  • Provide administrative support, including e-mail campaigns and data collection
  • Observe the Morgan’s school programming and be trained to teach school tours
  • Support daily school programming, teacher workshops, and the Morgan Book Project

Requirements

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Strong interest in a career in the museum or research library fields
  • Eligibility to work in the United States; international candidates must be eligible to participate in a paid internship program in the United States
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to attend programs on the following dates:
    • September 24 and 30, 2026
    • October 22, 2026
    • January 14, 2027
    • February 1, 2027
    • March 18, 2027
    • April 16, 2027
    • May 20, 2027
    Some dates may require evening or extended daytime availability.

Schedule

  • Weekday mornings, Tuesday–Friday
  • Maximum 14 hours per week
  • Internship runs September 2026–May 2027
  • Some weekend and evening hours required

Pay

$19 per hour
