School Staff Nurse: Floating

About the Role

The School Staff Nurse provides essential health services to students, including routine, special needs, and emergency care. They maintain accurate health records, participate in educational initiatives, and communicate effectively with management, parents, and school staff. The nurse demonstrates the knowledge to address the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of students of all ages, ensuring compliance with departmental, school, state, and federal policies. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine, special needs, and emergency health care to students.
• Maintain accurate health records for all students.
• Participate in health education initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with management, parents, and school staff.
• Address physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of students.
• Ensure compliance with departmental, school, state, and federal policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience; pediatric or school setting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Registered Nurse licensure and BLS certification required.
• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or obtained within 5 years of hire.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred; no supervisory experience needed.

Schedule

This is a per diem, on-site role, working Monday-Friday during school sessions.
