SCHOOL STAFF NURSE: COPLEY FAIRLAWN SCHOOLS 1:1

About the role

This is a part-time, onsite position (0.6 FTE) located at Copley Fairlawn Schools in Akron, Ohio. The schedule is Monday through Friday while school is in session, including 1:1 support with a student during bus rides.

Responsibilities

• Provides school health services as directed by department and contracts.
• Provides the clinical care necessary within the department, including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
• Maintains appropriate student health records and documents services rendered.
• Participates in the educational efforts of the department and the hospital.
• Communicates effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with departmental/school/State and Federal, and Human Resource policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 5 years of date of hire.
• Registered Nurse licensure is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in healthcare is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a school setting.
• Experience in pediatric nursing.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.
