School Nurse (Staff Nurse)

About the role

The post holder will support the School Nursing Team to provide an accessible, appropriate, culturally sensitive, person centred, effective service for children, young people and their families.

Responsibilities

• Support the School Nursing Team to deliver a comprehensive school nursing service in Lewis and Harris.
• Provide health care advice and support to children, young people and their families.
• Assess and manage health needs of children and young people in schools.
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure holistic care for children and young people.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.

Requirements

• A live NMC UK pin.
• Car ownership and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Band 5 qualification in Nursing.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of £33,295 - £43,039 pro rata.
• Plus £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata.
• 21.6 hours per week permanent position.
