About the Role

PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher ($40-$45/hr) to support high school students (low incidence) near Shawnee Mission, KS. This in-person role involves implementing the district curriculum to maximize student learning and supervising/evaluating students within the teaching assignment.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 7:20am–3:20pm (37.5 hrs/week with lunch break)
• Dates: 8/9/26–5/20/27
• Shift: 8 hours, days

Responsibilities

• Accommodate, modify, and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
• Support facilitation of IEP meetings and development of IEPs
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, tailored to students' developmental levels and interests
• Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques
• Assist in developing and implementing student behavior intervention plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Valid Kansas Teaching Licensure with Special Education Certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a special education teacher preferred
