School Services - School Behavioral Health Technician - $23-28 per hour
AHS Staffing is seeking a School Services School Behavioral Health Technician for a local contract job in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
About the role
This is a full-time, in-person paraprofessional (paraeducator) position supporting students at Rivertrail Learning Center in Coon Rapids, MN for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves working alongside Special Education Teachers to support students who receive 100% of their school day in a Setting 4 Special Education environment. Students may have significant disabilities, behavioral needs, and require a higher level of individualized support. Candidates should be comfortable working with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviors and require hands-on assistance throughout the school day.
Multiple openings are available for this contract-to-direct-hire position.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group support to students
- Assist Special Education Teachers with classroom instruction and activities
- Support students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs
- Help implement individualized student plans and behavioral supports
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a safe learning environment
- Assist students with toileting and personal care as needed
- Observe and document student progress and behavior as directed
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other members of the educational team
Requirements
- Must meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirements (documentation must be provided)
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Experience with behavioral or high-support-needs populations is a plus
- Must be comfortable supporting students with significant behaviors
- Must be willing to assist with toileting and personal care
- Strong communication, patience, reliability, and teamwork skills
Pay
$23–$28 per hour
Schedule
- Dates: September 8, 2026 – June 10, 2027
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 32.5 hours per week
- Shift: 6 hours per day, days
