About the Role

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Guard posts at the entry/exit points of client buildings and grounds.
  • Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
  • Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
  • Look for suspicious people, packages, and activities.
  • Follow site-specific post guidelines.
  • Document daily activities and report all incidents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
  • Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
  • Must adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required.
  • If driving company/client vehicles or using your own vehicle for work, must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record (fewer than 3 moving violations, fewer than 2 at-fault accidents, and no major violations in the last 3 years).
  • Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and capable of administering care in emergencies.
  • Must be able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergencies.
  • Must be physically and mentally sound, able to remain alert during shifts (8–12 hours), and capable of sitting, standing, walking long distances (including stairs), and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons and use hands/fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Experience working with school-aged children is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Pay

$21.22/hour.

Schedule

  • Seasonal full-time position (June through August).
  • Mid Shift (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM), Monday–Friday.

This is not an armed security position. Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles parked on-site.
