School Security Officer Full Time - Loudoun County Public Schools

About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a public education location in Ashburn, VA, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide welcoming customer service and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, entrances, parking areas, athletic fields, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with access control procedures, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate school personnel and Allied Universal supervision.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate observations, concerns, and relevant information to designated contacts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Pay

$18.87 / hour
