About the role
A school security monitor ensures the physical safety of students, staff, and campus facilities.
Responsibilities
- Patrol buildings and grounds
- Regulate visitor access
- De-escalate student conflicts
- Respond to emergencies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Supplemental training in safety and basic first aid preferred
- Experience with teenage students preferred
Requirements
- Establish and maintain effective public and working relationships
- Relate to students in a manner to elicit their cooperation
- Understand and effectively carry out instructions
- Exercise mature judgment in controlling student behavior
- Work outdoors in inclement weather and adapt to a variety of situations
