About the role
Thanks to community support, our posted rates now include increases funded through a community-approved override guaranteed through June 2031.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair locking devices, security containers and door closing hardware.
- Reproduce keys, make badges, and maintain records.
- Maintain master key system(s).
- Maintain and repair District Electronic Access Control Systems.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible locksmith experience AND Two (2) years working independently on master key systems and access/security platforms.
- OR Two (2) years of progressively responsible locksmith experience AND Locksmith Certification
- Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
- Prior To Start Date FBI fingerprint background check.
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
- Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
- Bloodborne Pathogen training offered by TUSD Risk Management Department.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASSA High Security System certification.
- Experience in Electronic Access Control Systems installation and repair.

AFSCME Blue Collar FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day

Qualifications
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Internal Candidates
Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
