Summary
Under the direction of the School Safety and Crisis Manager and School Administrator, the School Safety and Prevention Specialist patrols the school campus to ensure the safety and protection of students, staff, and property. They serve as a proactive team member focused on relationship-based and student-centered preventative strategies.
Schedule
- 183-day working calendar
- Shift: 10:30am – 7:00pm
- Hours: 8.0 per day
Pay & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $37.55 (SC11SEIU25-26.pdf)
- Position is eligible for membership in the Service Employees International Union No. 925

Education and Experience Required
- High school graduation or GED equivalent
- Two years of college course work in an applicable field preferred
- Two years of experience working with middle and/or high school age youth
License/Special Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment physical
- Possession of a valid Washington State Driver's License and access to personal vehicle
- CPR, AED, and First Aid preferred
Working Environment
- Generally, the job requires 60% walking, 20% standing, and 20% sitting
- Performed in indoor and outdoor environments, subject to temperature variations and adverse weather conditions in a generally hazard-free environment and clean atmosphere
