About the role

This position reports to the School Principal and provides skilled receptionist duties to Parents, School visitors & vendors; provides secretarial services for Faculty and Staff, helps facilitate office and School communication and acts as a minister of hospitality for the School. Assists with helping maintain accurate Student records.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephones and takes messages.
  • Assists visitors in the School office.
  • Helps facilitate school communication.
  • Provides back-up assistance to the Principal and office staff.
  • Helps assist with coordinating information for new family registration and student records.
  • Maintains student records, notifications and certificates.

  • General Secretarial responsibilities:
    • Distributes mail to the staff daily as directed.
    • Maintains supplies.
  • Special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general office and secretarial procedures.
  • Ability to professionally meet, greet and welcome parents & guests.
  • Proficient typing skills and working experience of software including Word, Excel Adobe; and Shelby church database.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and communicate these decisions effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • Two years experience working in a related position.

Skills
