SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST(S) 2026-27
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and interventions to students.
- Consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals to improve support strategies.
- Work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies.
- Collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.
- Evaluate and consult for potential 504 Plan eligibility for students requiring accommodations in the regular program.
- Administer, score, and interpret individual assessments, including tests of intelligence, achievement, social/emotional skills, functional behavior assessment, and adaptive skills.
- Report data to team members and write psychological evaluations.
- Consult with teachers, parents, other district personnel, and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services, and making recommendations for specific instructional strategies.
- Facilitate the school multi-disciplinary team for the identification of special needs students and the development of interventions to address those needs.
- Provide individual counseling and group guidance/counseling for students.
- Participate in various meetings (e.g., parent conferences, in-services training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.
- Supervise interns for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and achieving overall objectives of the school's curriculum.
Education & Experience
ESA certification as a School Psychologist. Prefered Experience working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
Skills
Strong oral and non-verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable board policies and district and legal requirements. Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. This position may be exposed to prolonged exposure to visual display terminals as required. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to and is supervised by the Special Education Supervisor.
Pay
$ 73,990 to $ 138,754 annual salary (based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement salary schedule).
