About the District
The Cumberland Valley School District is a suburban district in Cumberland County, approximately 15 minutes southwest of Harrisburg. The district comprises 8 elementary schools, two middle schools, a 9th grade academy, and a high school serving over 10,000 diverse learners. Internship Experience
The internship aligns with the NASP Practice Model and offers experience across the district working with administrators, teachers, specialists, and students. In addition to assessment, interns may focus on areas of interest such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and consultation.
- Minimum of 2 hours of face-to-face supervision per week by a Certified School Psychologist
- Collaboration with other school psychologists and attendance at monthly department meetings for a K–12 experience
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate on-campus meetings with university supervisors
- Training-focused year designed to prepare the intern for effective practice as a school psychologist
Pay
Stipend of $25,000 for the 2027–2028 school year; full-time internship supported through the PHEAA PAHelps Grant (PA Mental Health Education Learning Program in Schools).
Qualifications
Open to Specialist (Masters +30) and Doctoral candidates.

- Criminal Record Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI Finger Print Clearance
- TB Test/Mantoux (less than 3 months old)
- Physical examination (if applicable, less than 1 year old)
