About the role
The School Psychologist serves as a key member of the Special Programs team, partnering with regional instructional leaders, campus leaders, and teachers to enhance student outcomes. They are responsible for assessment, Special Education eligibility determination, academic and behavioral interventions, and ensuring compliance with legal frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Supports special education teachers in developing appropriate IEP goals.
- Ensures IEP services are provided as required in Annual ARDs and submits paperwork promptly.
- Collaborates with speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other related service personnel to complete ARD paperwork.
- Maintains accurate records and services according to procedures.
- Tracks and documents counseling services.
- Trains in and provides crisis counseling.
- Guides campuses in interventions for students in emotional and behavioral crises.
- Supports 504 campus coordinators with meetings, eligibility determinations, homebound services, and manifestation determinations.
- Conducts dyslexia evaluations for 504 students.
- Monitors and documents academic and behavioral interventions across different tiers.
- Conducts full and individual evaluations for non-Speech only students, adhering to best practices and evaluation standards.
- Ensures evaluations for Autism and Emotional Disturbance follow APA testing standards.
- Supports campuses in conducting functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans.
- Aids in academic and behavioral intervention planning for Tier II and Tier III students.
- Guarantees students referred to Special Education have completed appropriate interventions before evaluation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Texas license as a School Psychologist from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Experience in assessment, intervention, and compliance with educational laws.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Physical ability to work in various conditions, including around small children.
Qualifications
Commensurate with experience and qualifications, with a typical salary range of $70,500 to $82,100. Eligible for performance-based compensation and benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, parental benefits, flexible spending accounts, vacation days, referral bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan. Relocation assistance may be offered.

Schedule
This is a full-time on-site position located in the Upper RGV. Preference is given to candidates living in the region or willing to relocate.
Pay
Salaries typically range from $70,500 to $82,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
