About the role
The School Psychologist serves as a key member of the Special Programs team, partnering with regional instructional leaders, campus leaders, and teachers to enhance student outcomes. Key responsibilities include supporting special education teachers in setting appropriate IEP goals, ensuring compliance with ARD processes, conducting evaluations, and providing interventions.
Responsibilities
- Supports special education teachers in developing appropriate IEP academic, behavioral, and social goals.
- Ensures IEP services are provided as outlined in ARD meetings.
- Works collaboratively with speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other related service personnel to complete ARD paperwork.
- Maintains accurate records and services documentation.
- Tracks and documents counseling services.
- Trains and conducts crisis counseling as needed.
- Guides campuses in implementing interventions for students in emotional and behavioral crises.
- Supports 504 campus coordinators with 504 meeting requirements, eligibility determinations, homebound services, and manifestation determinations.
- Conducts dyslexia evaluations for 504 students.
- Monitors and documents academic and behavioral interventions across different tiers.
- Conducts full and individual evaluations for non-speech only students, adhering to APA testing standards.
- Ensures proper evaluations for autism and emotional disturbance, following NASP best practices.
- Supports campuses in completing functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans.
- Aids in academic and behavioral intervention planning for students in tiers II and III.
- Ensures students referred to Special Education have completed appropriate Tier II and Tier III interventions before being evaluated for Special Education.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Texas license as a School Psychologist from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Experience working with students in educational settings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Physical ability to work in various environments, including around small children.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge and skills in assessment, intervention strategies, and compliance with educational laws and regulations. Strong consultation and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Benefits
Compensation includes a salary range of $70,500 to $82,100, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A relocation stipend may be offered upon request.
