School Police Officer

About the role

Provide law enforcement services to District schools and properties by monitoring and ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and the community.

Requirements

• Graduate of PA State Police Academy OR Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission (MPOETC)
• Act 120 Certified OR other Police Officer Certification
• Minimum of five years’ experience on PA State Police Force, Municipal Police Force, School Police Officer, or other certified police officer role
• Satisfactory completion of NASRO (National Association of School Resource Officers) or 40-hour Basic SRO Course training
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certified
• Ability to maintain current school clearances as required by law
• Ability to qualify with district-issued duty weapons and all other certifications as required by law
• Current background clearances (Act 34, 151, and 114) required prior to start of employment

Qualifications

• Previous school policing experience preferred
