About the Role
The School of Public Health in the College of Health and Human Services at San Diego State University is accepting applications for their part-time lecturer pool. Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, requiring availability on short notice.
Opportunities exist for teaching in the following areas:

- Health Economics
- Epidemiology
- Global Health
- Biostatistics & Data Analysis
- Health Communication
- Program Planning & Evaluation
The Fall term runs from mid-August to late-December, and the Spring term from mid-January to mid-May. Summer session opportunities may also be available. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, renewable based on satisfactory evaluations and work availability.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Public Health or related discipline
- University teaching experience
- Demonstrated currency in subject matter
- A minimum of two years’ post-Master’s related experience
Pay
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges are:
- Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range.
