About the role

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. This position reports to (supervisor): Campus Associate Dean – Tracy Holt.

Function/Duties of Position

• Didactic Teaching Education Activities (Includes didactic, clinical, and mentoring activities):
  • Provides effective classroom instruction based on teaching assignments, using appropriate instructional technologies to ensure that course outcomes are met.
  • Participates collaboratively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
• Clinical Teaching Plans, supervises, and delivers effective clinical instruction in lab, simulation, and real-world healthcare settings, ensuring students apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
• Mentorship and Supervision:
  • Mentors and advises students across academic and professional development areas.
  • Faculty in the doctoral program supervise students in dissertation and/or clinical inquiry projects.
• Scholarly Activities (Research/writing, abstracts, grant-supported work, presentations, etc.):
  • At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the practice mission, demonstrates competence in an area of clinical expertise and engages in inquiry and scholarship that contributes to the science of clinical practice.
  • At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the research mission advance a program of research, prepare grants and seek funding, and engage with other missions to foster inquiry within the SON.
• Service Activities:
  • Participates in faculty governance; additional strategic initiatives based on rank.
  • Additional campus specific activities as assigned by the Program or Academic Director.
• Administrative Activities:
  • As negotiated.

Required Qualifications

• Education and Experience (Degree dependent on academic program type and rank of position. Experience dependent on academic program type and rank of position):
• Lecturer: BSN
• Instructor: MSN or equivalent
• Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor: PhD/DNP or equivalent

• Registrations, Certifications, and/or Licenses (Current licensure & certifications could be required depending on position and academic program.):
• Oregon RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
