School of Management Lecturer Pool

School of Management teaches courses in Strategic Management, Business Law, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, Human Resource Management (variety of topics), Business and Society, Ethics, Entrepreneurship, International Business, and Introduction to Business.

About the Role

We are seeking part-time faculty lecturers to teach undergraduate courses on the main campus in San José, California. Positions start at the beginning of a semester and appointments may be renewed based on department need, funding, and performance.

Faculty shall organize all their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester or term, in-person on the San José State University campus.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in assigned subject areas.
• Hold weekly office hours.
• Create and evaluate student exams and assignments.
• Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited university, business school, or law school.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience and/or significant university teaching experience.
• Applicants pursuing a Ph.D. or doctoral degree must present their current status as part of the application.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population, gained through cross-cultural study, training, teaching, or comparable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing relevant scholarly or applied research or possessing significant and recent professional experience in areas important to the School of Management.
• Assessment based on AACSB qualification standards.

Pay

Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience. Anticipated monthly salary ranges for part-time faculty (prorated from full-time rates):

• L-A / Range 2: $5,507 – $5,959
• L-B / Range 3: $6,221 – $7,481
• L-C / Range 4: $6,825 – $9,431
• L-D / Range 5: $8,593 – $10,347

There are 6 monthly payments per semester (full-time AY annual salary = rate x 12).
