About the role

The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business of San José State University seeks part-time faculty members to teach undergraduate courses in the School of Management.

Responsibilities

• Excellent teaching skills and engagement with students.
• Teach during designated class times and be responsible for weekly office hours.
• Create and evaluate student exams and assignments.
• Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population.
• Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Teach in-person on the San José State University campus.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree from an accredited university, business school, or law school.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience, or significant university teaching experience.
• Pursuing relevant scholarly or applied research or having significant and recent professional experience in the areas of importance to the School of Management.

Qualifications

• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population.
• Areas of teaching include: Strategic Management, Business Law, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory, Human Resource Management (variety of topics), Business and Society, Ethics, Entrepreneurship, International Business, and Introduction to Business.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing relevant scholarly or applied research or having significant and recent professional experience in the areas of importance to the School of Management.

Schedule

Positions start at the beginning of a semester and appointments may be renewed based on department need, funding, and performance.
