About the role

Liberty University seeks adjunct faculty to teach online Engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Positions are available in Civil, Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, and Engineering Management disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Model a personal commitment to Liberty University's goals and values, engaging in personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview.
  • Teach from approved curriculum in accordance with an assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
  • Aid students in achieving their learning objectives.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students.
  • Motivate students to actively participate in the educational process.
  • Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
  • Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive conduct with students and offering assistance to absent students.
  • Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering Liberty University's mission.

Qualifications and Credentials

  • Earned a graduate degree or doctorate in an Engineering discipline such as Civil, Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, or Engineering Management.
  • To teach at the baccalaureate level, possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related discipline with experience desired.
  • To teach at the Master’s level, possess a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the related discipline and hold a related, conferred terminal degree.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years teaching experience either in a classroom or online or a combination of both.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years applied experience in a related field.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English for professional representation.
  • Public communication skills for professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer and scheduling skills.
  • Problem-solving ability to intuitively analyze and solve problems of both routine and complex nature.

Physical And Sensory Abilities

  • Sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
