School Nutrition Services Driver

About the role

The School Nutrition Services Driver works with the School Nutrition Director and staff on loading delivery vehicles and delivering meals to various school sites. The position requires the ability to prioritize work under fast-paced conditions, drive a van or truck for deliveries, and maintain positive working relationships with employees, school staff, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the packaging of meals.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
• Deliver meals to various school sites in a timely, safe manner.
• Maintain delivery routes and meet time schedules efficiently under fast-paced conditions.
• Ensure items transported are accurately accounted for upon delivery.
• Monitor vehicle function and report any malfunctions, defects, or needed service to the Director of School Nutrition.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Work independently with strong organizational skills.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of School Nutrition in accordance with district policies and practices.

Requirements

• Ability to drive a van or truck for deliveries.
• Significant physical abilities, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, school staff, and the public.

Pay

$18.90 - $19.50 per hour

Schedule

• 3.75 hours per day, 183 days per year (non-affiliated position).
• Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:45 PM.
• School year: August through June.

Evaluation

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in writing by the Director of School Nutrition.
