Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or HSE GED equivalent
- EPA Refrigerant certification required
- Valid Georgia Driver's License
Essential Duties
- Communicates effectively and professionally with school staff, nutrition personnel, supervisors, vendors, and school sites, providing updates on work orders, repairs, and equipment status.
- Assists in diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in commercial food service and refrigeration equipment under supervision.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment to ensure proper functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
- Supports plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, ventilation, and other skilled trade tasks as assigned.
- Inspects equipment to identify needed repairs and follows established procedures for maintenance and service.
- Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety and OSHA standards.
- Collaborates with the Kitchen Equipment Manager, vendors, and contractors to secure parts, materials, and complete repairs.
- Operates and maintains District-issued vehicles, tools, and equipment; responds to emergency service calls and participates in training to enhance skills and safety knowledge.
- Aids in training school nutrition staff on basic equipment care, cleaning protocols, and simple troubleshooting practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
