School Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide health care services to medically fragile students (K-12 up to 21 years old) that have individual health plans.
• Administer medications according to doctor’s orders.
• Monitor and care for seizures, tube feedings, ventilator support, suctioning, etc.
• Assess the health care needs of children to foster an optimal learning environment.
• Contribute to IEP meetings and work closely with other related service providers, such as PT, OT, Speech, Psychologist, etc.
• Provide First Aid for daily incidents.
• Make recommendations when necessary and document all incidents.

Qualifications & Education

• NYS Registered Nursing Certification required.
• Prior experience working with K-12 students in a school or Pediatric environment preferred.
