Requirements
- Must have school experience as an RN or LPN
- BSN is required for the RN role
- Active RN or LPN license for Florida
- Active BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough student health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols and state regulations
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the school, utilizing CPR, AED operation, and first aid skills
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs
- Manage immunization records in accordance with state Board of Nursing requirements and health regulations
- Provide health education to students and staff on topics such as hygiene, injury prevention, and chronic disease management
- Support school-wide health initiatives by coordinating screenings, vaccinations, and health promotion activities
- Ensure compliance with nursing policies and State Nursing Practice Acts while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Assist in maintaining a safe clinic environment through manual handling procedures and infection control practices
