School Nurse

About the role

The School Nurse will provide nursing services, routine and emergency care, recordkeeping, 504 and Special Education related services, and screening for elementary school students at one or more of our schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services, routine and emergency care, recordkeeping, 504 and Special Education related services, and screening for elementary school students at one or more of our schools.
• Be responsible for any Medical Review submitted as part of the IEP process for evaluation or reevaluation or for creating or modifying nursing activities or student health related goals as part of the IEP and/or 504.

Requirements

• Possess an RN License.
• Hold an ISBE issued Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed as school nurse.
• Prior experience serving children or working in schools is strongly preferred.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license.
• ISBE issued Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed as school nurse.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of special education and 504 requirements.
