About the role

The School Staff Nurse provides comprehensive health services to students, including routine, special needs, and emergency care. They maintain accurate student health records, participate in educational initiatives, and effectively communicate with management, parents, and school staff. The role requires demonstrating knowledge of physical, psychological, social, and safety needs, as well as compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Delivering clinical care to students
• Documenting health services provided
• Supporting health education initiatives
• Maintaining accurate student health records
• Participating in educational initiatives
• Communicating effectively with management, parents, and school staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or must obtain within five years
• RN licensure
• BLS certification
• 1-2 years healthcare experience, preferably in pediatrics or school settings
• Proficiency in MS Office applications

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide holistic care to diverse student populations
• Knowledge of departmental, school, state, and federal policies
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team is preferred
