School Monitor

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitor students during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and transitions between classes.
• Ensure students follow school rules and engage in safe, respectful behavior.
• Assist students as needed, resolving minor issues and escalating concerns to appropriate staff.
• Support an efficient and orderly flow of student movement throughout the school.

Lunch & Recess Management

• Supervise students during meals, ensuring a clean, respectful, and orderly environment.
• Absorb and prepare the cleanup of tables and surrounding areas, ensuring cleanliness.
• Oversee recess activities to promote safe and appropriate play.

Dismissal & Transition Support

• Ensure students transition efficiently between classes and during dismissal.
• Absorb and assist with bus boarding, ensuring students leave the building in an orderly manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year working with children or youth-serving organization.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
• Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Highly organized and motivated, self-starter, and able to work independently.
