School Crossing Guard

Essential Job Duties

• Assist school children at the local schools safely cross the streets.
• Perform other related assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ensure children cross the street on their way to and from school in a safe manner.
• Be constantly observant of traffic conditions.
• React quickly and with good judgment in stressful and/or emergency situations.
• Communicate well with children.
• Multi-task and be very observant.
• Work independently.
• Have the stamina to stand for long periods of time in varying and changing weather conditions.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Temperament and ability to communicate well with children.
• Multitask oriented and very observant.
• Ability to speak English, to communicate and to understand simple oral directions.

Physical Demands

• Good vision and hearing acuity, with or without correction.
• Adequate mobility to quickly cross roads and stop traffic.
• Stamina to stand for long periods of time in varying and changing weather conditions.
• Occasional reaching, bending, stooping and/or running.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Environmental Conditions

• Works outdoors in varying and changing weather conditions.
