About the role
Hold up a hand-held "STOP" sign until all children are safely across the street. Report any unsafe observations, incidents, or accidents involving students to school authorities. Record and report the license numbers of vehicles that disregard the Crossing Guard while in the crosswalk. Assist students that are lost, injured, or need assistance. Abide by all guidelines and regulations governing student crossing.

- Assist students that are lost, injured, or need assistance
- Abide by all guidelines and regulations governing student crossing
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Must be able to work effectively and be courteous with other employees and the public
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Must be able to apply sound judgment
- Knowledge of traffic control devices and traffic regulations pertaining to school and pedestrian crossings
- Previous experience working with children or the public is preferred

- Stopping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to walk for an extended period primarily in an outside environment, including exposure to inclement weather conditions
- Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
Pay
$13.73 per hour, paid four hours per day when school is in session.
