About the role
The role of School Counselor leads the campus family engagement vision, social emotional learning program, and coordination of mental health and counseling supports for all scholars on the campus. Key tenets of family engagement, social emotional learning, and student social emotional supports are implemented through the role of the School Counselor to ensure all staff are building authentic relationships with students and families.
Responsibilities
- Achieves/Owns Campus Goal of Overall Student Persistence
- Directs and holds all campus team members accountable to fulfill their role in family engagement and student persistence.
- Plans and executes student and family engagement events aligned to the school’s culture and community needs.
- Manages the campus overall student persistence data to ensure 100% accuracy and reporting.
- Administers two parent and two student surveys to gather feedback and create strategic plans to respond to parent input.
- Owns the campus new student persistence to ensure 100% data accuracy and reporting.
- Documents at least ten hours of direct student services weekly and collaborates with community agencies to coordinate services.
- Conducts regular observations and provides feedback on the Move This World curriculum implementation.
- Tracks curriculum progress and conducts BOY and EOY assessments on Mental Health competencies, school climate, safety, and sense of belonging.
- Manages accurate data tracking of crises and conducts audits of data periodically.
- Presents data to the monthly CCT meeting and collaborates with CCT Members to ensure risk and threat assessments are conducted with fidelity.
- Creates Campus Crisis Binders and conducts walkthroughs with CCT members.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.
- Valid TX School Counselor certification or counseling/social work licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-S, LPC-A, LPC, LMFT-A, LMFT) required.

Pay
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $72,785 and $84,431, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
