About the role
The role of School Counselor leads the campus family engagement vision, social emotional learning program, and coordination of mental health and counseling supports for all scholars on the campus. Key tenets of family engagement, social emotional learning, and student social emotional supports are implemented through this role.
Responsibilities
- Directs and holds all campus team members accountable to fulfill their role in supporting students and families.
- Directs and manages through influence all campus team members to their role in family engagement to retain new students from year to year.
- Administers 2 parent surveys and 2 student surveys annually to gather feedback and implement improvements.
- Collaborates with community agencies to coordinate services within the school system.
- Conducts regular rotating observations of Move This World blocks and provides feedback to teachers.
- Tracks curriculum progress and conducts BOY and EOY assessments on Mental Health competencies, school climate, safety, and sense of belonging.
- Manages accurate data tracking of crises that arise on the campus across all systems and conducts audits of data periodically.
- Presents data to the monthly CCT meeting and collaborates with CCT Members to ensure Risk & Threat Assessment Checklist have been followed for each crisis with fidelity.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.
- Valid TX School Counselor certification or counseling/social work licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-S, LPC-A, LPC, LMFT-A, LMFT) required.

Pay
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $72,785 and $84,431, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
