School Counselor

About the role

The Keystone School is seeking a School Counselor to join our talented team. This is a full-time position with the ability to work independently and travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Helps all students plan for postsecondary options, manage emotions, and set academic goals
• Develops and implements a comprehensive school counseling program
• Reviews transcripts and academic documentation for new and returning students
• Works collaboratively with teaching staff to develop a four-year graduation plan and audit student schedules
• Assists students in course placement and recommends AP and enrichment opportunities
• Analyzes student data and develops data-driven intervention action plans
• Provides short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support
• Supports standardized testing, parent education, and staff development
• Advocates for students at IEP meetings and other student-focused meetings
• Focuses students and families on goal setting and academic planning for college and career readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement
• Valid School Counselor License
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems
• Flexible schedule; ability to travel as needed

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling
• Experience with distance learning
• Advanced coursework in counseling and administration

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and mandated reporting
• Experience with state career planning systems, such as Pathfinder

Benefits
