Responsibilities
- Helps all students plan for postsecondary options, manage emotions, and set academic goals.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive school counseling program.
- Collaborates with teaching staff to create a four-year graduation plan and audit student schedules.
- Assists students in course placement, including recommendations for AP and enrichment opportunities.
- Analyzes student data and develops intervention plans.
- Provides short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support.
- Supports standardized testing, parent education, and staff development.
- Advocates for students at IAVA meetings and ensures compliance with state and federal laws.
- Works collaboratively with the school community to enhance student success.
- Maintains a professional home office during work hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement.
- Valid School Counselor License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems.
- A flexible schedule and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in school counseling.
- Experience with distance learning and state career planning systems.
- Experience in a charter school environment is preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and mandated reporting.
Benefits
Stride, Inc. offers a competitive benefits package including health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off. Salary range is $40,070 - $60,010 annually, with potential for bonuses. Employees must pass a background check and adhere to Stride’s “at-will” employment policy.
