A professional school counselor is a certified educator trained in school counseling with unique qualifications and skills to address all students' academic, personal, social, and college and career development needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement comprehensive school counseling program based on district strategic plans and goals, and the Comprehensive School Counseling Model.
• Work with principals to maximize student achievement by promoting equity and access to opportunities and rigorous educational experiences for all students.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders to address the needs of all students through prevention, intervention programs, and use counseling standards to create a comprehensive school counseling program.

Qualifications

• Certified educator with expertise in school counseling.
• Knowledge of Comprehensive School Counseling Model and district strategic plans.
• Ability to promote equity and access to opportunities and rigorous educational experiences for all students.
• Strong leadership, advocacy, and collaboration skills.
