About the role
The George B. Weatherbee School is seeking a dynamic school counselor to join its student support services team for the 2026-27 School Year.
Responsibilities
- Build enduring relationships with students and their families
- Show strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understand counseling best practices and be interested in innovative approaches
- Utilize technology to enhance practice
- Show a solid work ethic and a desire to participate in the school community
- Provide student transition supports
Requirements
- State of Maine Department of Education Certification
- Prior experience in school counseling and/or professional training in child development/counseling, consultation and factors influencing the learning process preferred
- A flexible and confident decision maker
- Able to work professionally and establish effective working relationships with co-workers, students, district staff, parents, and community service providers
Qualifications
- Maine Guidance Counselor Certification 075, CHRC Required
