About the role
The REMOTE School Counselor at Insight School of Oregon (ISOR) plays a crucial role in promoting student success by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. This position focuses on academic success, social and emotional development, and career and college readiness.
Responsibilities
- Helps all students plan for postsecondary options, manage emotions, and apply academic achievement strategies.
- Maintains a four-year graduation plan and audits student schedules for graduation candidacy.
- Provides classroom instruction based on student success standards and reviews academic documentation for new and returning students.
- Develops data-driven programs for intervention action plans and provides short-term counseling as necessary.
- Supports standardized testing, parent education, and staff development; advocates for students at IEP meetings.
- Focuses students and families on goal setting and academic planning for college and career readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement.
- Valid School Counselor License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems.
- Flexible schedule; ability to travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in school counseling.
- Experience with distance learning.
- Advanced coursework in counseling and administration.
- Experience with state career planning systems, Pathfinder, or similar tools.
Skills
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4).

The salary range for this position is $50,000-60,000, with the actual salary determined by the position's level and expected contribution, as well as the employee's benefits elections.
