School Counselor

About the role

Join our team and help students write their new story. As a Mental Health Professional at New Story Schools, you will provide counseling and emotional support that helps students manage challenges and thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling aligned to student goals and IEPs
• Collaborate with educators and families to design and monitor behavior or counseling plans
• Conduct crisis intervention and provide emotional support to students in distress
• Lead social-emotional learning sessions and professional development for staff
• Document counseling services and maintain compliance with confidentiality standards

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field
• Active PA license or certification in counseling, social work, or school counseling
• Minimum two years of experience providing individual or group counseling to children
• Expertise in trauma-informed care and social-emotional learning
• Strong communication, crisis intervention, and collaboration skills
