School Counselor

About the role

The School Counselor will provide support to students in academic, career, and personal/social development. They will work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students
• Assist students in setting and achieving academic goals
• Collaborate with teachers to develop strategies that promote student success
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly with families
• Implement school-wide programs to address social/emotional needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling or related field
• Valid Texas teaching certificate
• Experience working with adolescents preferred

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of child development and psychology

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Pay

$45,000 - $50,000 annually based on experience and qualifications
