School Counselor

About the role

School counselors are expected to provide essential and necessary guidance and counseling to students to maximize student achievement and school completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students
• Assist students in developing academic, career, and personal/social skills
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community members to support student success
• Evaluate student progress and make recommendations for improvement
• Develop and implement counseling programs and activities

Requirements

• Master's degree with a major in guidance and counseling
• A valid Georgia certificate in School Counseling
• Previous school counseling experience is preferred

Qualifications

• Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
