About the role

To minimize absence due to illness and to create a climate of health and well-being for every student in the District.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with students, parents, staff, and administrators
• Perform essential job functions and job task requirements
• Develop rapport with community providers and build collaboration to assure ongoing care for students

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling or Master’s in Social Work
• Current New Mexico licensure from Counseling & Practice Board or Social Work Board (LPC, LPCC, LMHC, LISW, LCSW, LMSW)
• Current New Mexico Public Education License as School Counselor (preferred or eligibility)
• School experience preferred

Pay

Nine-month contract (185 days) with placement on the District School Counselor Salary Schedule. Work calendar subject to Board-approved revisions.

Conditions of Employment

• Compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
• Completion of an Employee’s Statement of Health and functional capacity evaluation at the District’s expense to determine ability to perform job-related functions and fitness for duty
• Satisfactory completion of all background, criminal, and reference investigations
