School Clinician

About the Role

Bay Cove Academy is a therapeutic day school specializing in trauma-informed services for students ages 12-22 with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. The school offers a supportive environment addressing education, clinical, pre-vocational, recreational, and behavioral needs, including individual, group, and milieu counseling. The role utilizes ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency) and BCC (Building Communities of Care) treatment frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with school employees to provide therapeutic special education services.
• Plan and implement individual and group counseling sessions.
• Support students in developing and practicing stress management and regulation skills.
• Design, develop, and implement clinical treatment plans.
• Develop and implement IEP social, emotional, and behavioral goals; participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Provide case management and communication for assigned students.
• Participate in data collection and analysis.
• Model trauma-informed care through ARC and BCC treatment philosophies.
• Learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to ensure a safe therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Clinical licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, LMFT) or ability to sit for licensure; support provided for licensure process.
• Two years of relevant experience with adolescents.
• Knowledge and understanding of clinical theory and practice.
• Experience in an alternative school setting or treatment program preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 per year. The range reflects the expected compensation at the time of posting and may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.
