Responsibilities
- Deliver age-relevant program activities and direct services, outreach, and paperwork for billing and clinical purposes.
- Safeguard facilitation of professional development workshops.
- May clinically supervise assigned MSW and other graduate level interns, if certified.
Requirements
- Caseload management, including maintaining attendance and educational progress.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students on a weekly basis.
- Support and co-facilitate classroom sessions – Advisory, Side by Side, and/or SEL curriculum.
- Plan and facilitate milieu services in common spaces, such as classroom, cafeteria, and afterschool push-ins, arrival and dismissal.
- Serve as a Success Mentor, and provide attendance supports and interventions for students struggling with attendance.
- Complete weekly Success Mentoring logs.
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff.
- Participate in school teams, such as Attendance, Counseling, and others, as identified by Site Manager.
- Outreach to students and their families, including phone calls, written correspondence, and home visits.
- Provide crisis counseling, conflict mediation, and social-emotional support.
- Complete screenings, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and provide referrals.
- Timely completion of required documentation for clinical and billing purposes (EMR Dr. Cloud).
- Attend staff meetings and staff development opportunities.
- Collaborate on transdisciplinary team of Wediko and school staff to create individualized plans to support student progress.
- Support the facilitation of professional development workshops for school staff.
- Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with school staff and other school-based partners.
- Represent Wediko in the field via participation or presentations at panels, conferences, meetings, etc.
- Support the implementation of the Community School Model.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in mental health/counseling (e.g., MSW, M.S. Ed in Counseling, MFT, etc.).
- Licensed professional strongly preferred.
- Clinical supervision and client contact hours towards independent licensure.
- One plus years’ experience working within programs serving youth and families preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as some weekends/evenings in support of school events.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
