School Bus Driver

About the role

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.

Responsibilities

• Previous bus driving experience helpful, but not required.
• Paid training and assistance obtaining Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with S&P Endorsement provided.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Passing score on the CDL Knowledge Test.
• Passing score on the CDL Medical Exam.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and operate a school bus safely and efficiently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules.

Skills

• Knowledge of school bus safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Benefits

• District benefits available to employees hired to work 5.75+ hours/day, 5 days/week.

Pay

$17.00-$23.25/hour (wage determined by years of relevant experience)

Schedule

4-8 hours/day, 9 months/year
