School Bus Activity Drivers

Duties

• Obeys all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school vehicles and follows district procedures
• Interacts positively with students and maintains a safe environment for all riders
• Reports discipline issues to the proper authorities
• Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle
• Checks the vehicle before each operation to identify mechanical issues
• Notifies supervisors of vehicle defects
• Follows an assigned schedule in a timely manner
• Releases students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students
• Reports all accidents and safety problems
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor

Skills

• Ability to problem-solve solutions to various challenges
• Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must have a good driving record and be able to pass a DOT physical
• Good communication skills
